Road to Fortune Die Adventure

Road to Fortune is a classic, high‑energy quilt block built from strong diagonals and rotating rectangles, known historically as a cousin to Wheel of Fortune. It appears in Barbara Brackman’s Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns and has become especially popular today in foundation paper piecing (FPP) because of its crisp geometry and scrap‑friendly layout.

We are lucky to have this die from Accuquilt, a BOB die (Block on Board) that cuts all the pieces needed for a 9" finished quilt block. We simply need to spend time figuring out the best way to join those pieces into the delightful Road to Fortune quilt block.

It's like a rotating pinwheel created by angled rectangles. Usually it's a four color block, but it looks good scrappy as well. This quilt block looks awesome on its own but it's one of those hidden talent blocks that creates really amazing secondary patterns.

I would love to have you join me for this class. It's sounding like it could be a favorite.
