If you think you would like to get educated about all things 'borders', this is the class for you.
Look at the importance of borders on a quilt, types of borders, what to consider when adding a border to a quilt, and how to add that border so the edges of your quilt are not wavy.
Learn several popular border patterns, look at where Accuquilt fits in the process and check out how Pauline Rogers tackles borders. Then, there's mitered corners, cornerstones, and Ten Sisters borders, and even a free motion discussion.
This class is full of information. It will benefit you for years to come.
Registration is now open for the January class. It starts Monday, January 12th and 19th, 2-5:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Monday, December 1st and 8th, 10-1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
There have been requests for this class to happen before the holidays. Some want to use these skills for last minute gifts. So, we have inserted the class on two Mondays at the start of December.
Come join us. Make a quick wall hanging or table runner that is stunning or cute. There are many patterns to choose from and the results are delightful.
This class has just opened. Take advantage. It may help with your holiday gifting.
Monday, December 8th, 2-5:00 p.m. Eastern time
Occasionally, I have heard talk about the Alabama Beauty. I've also done some research about this quilt block, only to discover that it's been around a while as a delightful block to create.
In my class, I will introduce you to the ease of sewing curved edges. Because Accuquilt has done the math for us, the shapes can be easily cut and sewn together. Previously, this block could only be created by using templates and painstakingly cutting them apart with scissors or a rotary cutter.
This is a block where you can be creative with color, creating a variety of designs with how you choose to place colors. What fun this is.
Since you can make a poinsettia table runner with this quilt block, it is perfect for the Christmas holidays. I do hope you'll take a few December hours to do something for you. See you in class. Click here to register.

The crazy quilt die comes in two sizes: 6" and 10" finished. The smaller size die is awesome for table runners while the larger is terrific for soft, cozy quilts that look like something grandma might have made.
Supply list for this class: multiple scraps, fat quarters or layer cakes. If you're making a larger quilt project, check out Carol Thelan's www.quiltnotes.com to determine the yardage needed. It's a wonderful tool.
This class is built into December as a quick-study class for those creating inexpensive gifts out their stash. Get some fun ideas from our class and then apply them. You might even consider joining the Christmas workshop on December 18th for a day of uninterrupted Christmas Elf sewing.
Schedule uninterrupted sewing time.
These mini retreats are offered through QuiltersB to promote the idea that we can all sew together and be motivation for each other.
Click here to register for any of these mini retreat/Christmas Workshops.
Christmas Workshop Thursdays:
December 18 - 10-5:00 p.m. - Last workshop in 2025
Overwhelmed quilters need uninterrupted sewing time for unfinished projects, Christmas sewing, and for catch-up on class work.
Many want company in their sewing room. Others want to know there is someone who can help them with a skill. So, join me in my sewing room. I will join you in yours. Let's help each other, and sew together on Zoom.
Schedule one day once a month for uninterrupted sewing. Write it on the calendar. Educate your family that you are dedicating that day to the sewing room. Maybe plan ahead so supper is in the freezer.
Call this a mini-retreat, a therapeutic respite, or a Christmas workshop. The spirit is the same; we are all like elves preparing for that big day when we gift a quilt to someone. Many of us just need to breathe and create.
I offered July, August and September on a Tuesday. Now there are official Christmas Workshops on Thursdays: October, November and December from 10-5:00 p.m. By switching the days, it gives those who couldn't do Tuesdays a chance to join a different day.
Also, it is possible to register for one day or two or three. Please know that the cost is slightly less if you pay for the three day package. But this payment option gives you some flexibility, month to month.
Have fun with the Log Cabin Die, January 17th, Saturday, 10-1:00 p.m.
There is nothing quite like the satisfaction that comes from playing with the log cabin die. It is one of Accuquilt's creations that make life so much easier.
The die cuts 1 1/2" strips in a variety of lengths. They are all set to sew into quilt blocks that can measure different sizes. Much depends on how many rounds are put onto the center square.
Our class will inspire you with a 'museum' of pattern designs and ideas that turn almost any quilter on to using the log cabin quilt blocks. I have created a Facebook page for log cabin students and you will receive a study guide for a permanent reference.
Class is recorded and downloadable. Won't you join me? Let's build a log cabin project in one way, shape, form or another. Register by clicking here.
A delightful Lori Holt Bee in My Bonnet Series:
Starting January 6th, 5-8:00 p.m.
These classes address the Neighbor series of nine houses. For each of three patterns, there will be 3 three-hour classes, one class per pattern, and with a week in between the scheduled classes. It is the hope that such time allotments will help with completing each separate 'house' quilt block.
These house quilt blocks are delightful. Each house displays a traditional quilt block within the house. The purpose of these classes is to provide Accuquilt friendly guidance with study guides that walk students through the piecing process in these Lori Holt patterns.
Register for Houses 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9 separately or register for all three classes at the same time. The option is yours.
Two 3-hour classes monthly for 8 months on Zoom: January through August 2026 - with an empty week in between classes.
This is a Kansas Troubles quilt pattern that is designed to last 12 months. Through QuiltersB, making it Accuquilt friendly, we will tackle the quilt pattern in 8 months and provide guidance for the variety of quilt blocks in this beautiful pattern. It is a delightful quilt.
Brighten your home with the classic decor of the Vintage Christmas Sampler, a traditionally pieced pattern with just a bit of fusible applique for the ornament tops. This fun design features log cabin blocks, flying geese, stars, and various Christmas motifs that will bring joy to your home for years to come. The quilt is queen sized and finishes to approximately 88" x 100".
Search for the Kansas Troubles fabrics or use your own. If the quilt is started in January, it could be finished in time for Christmas 2026.

Saturday, January 10th, 2-5:00 p.m.
Considered challenging over the years, this traditional quilt block has often been constructed with foundation paper piecing or Y-Seams. With the Block on Board (BOB) dies, if you can sew a 1/4" seam, you will create this classic beauty.
Many like the look of this die and are certain it will enhance their quilt designs. Because the die looks a little scary, I can be your guide so you meet with success as you create this block.
Click here to register for the January 10th class. That's a Saturday, 2-5:00 p.m. Eastern time. See you there!
Tuesday, January 13th, 5-8:00 p.m. Eastern time
Meet the Creative Grid stripology rulers. ALL OF THEM. They can feel like a challenge without some kind of instruction. You may also want to know 'what else' they can do. The brainstorm of Gudrun Erla from Iceland, they have saved many quilters from wonky strips and shapes.
This is an opportunity to get educated. Learn tips and tricks for using these special rulers. Discover the 'what else' and appreciate that they are great partners in crime with Accuquilt. I use my rulers all the time as I square quilt blocks and subcut strips. But there's so much more I can show you.
Click here to register for class on January 13th, Tuesday, 5-8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Saturday, December 13th, 10-1:00 p.m.
This die is awesome for learning how to cut and sew curves. If you've not done that before, then this class is for you.
Curves can feel easy because Accuquilt has created notches on the cut pieces to match up as you sew. And the fun you can have with color is phenomenal.
Stand back and squint at the sample above. The secondary circular pattern that is created is awesome. Just like interlocking rings, you can understand why this could be an alternate wedding quilt pattern.
I do hope you'll come play with your flowering snowball die. It's fun in winter, and any other time of the year. Let me inspire you and motivate you to be creative. Click here to register for class Saturday, December 13, 10-1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Two Wednesday classes each month:
10-1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
January 14 and 21, Feb 11 and 18,
March 11 and 25, April 22 and 29
Eight three hour classes across four months. Take a look at historical myths.
I have wanted to teach an Underground Railroad class for a long time. Since the Underground Railroad during slave times has been talked about for generations, it has fascinated me. Many say it is more myth than fact, and yet repeatedly the tales are told, celebrating black heroes and white heroes from days long gone.
It has been fascinating. I've delved into the myths, looked at old photographs, read historical perspectives and tried to immerse myself into life back then. What was it like? How did folks help each other? Was quilting a 'thing' that saved lives? I've been reading and researching. Now I am ready to combine a bit of history with poetic license in order for us to create our own story of the Underground Railroad.
We will look at 12-16 quilt blocks. Instead of hand quilting, we will bring these blocks into today, make them Accuquilt friendly, and design our own Underground Railroad quilt. What story might we tellL? At the least, we will enjoy sewing and piecing together; at the most, we will walk away with an appreciation for history, what it tells us, and what we might choose to read between the lines. Many exclaim, “I am terrible at choosing fabrics for my quilts.” So, let’s do a class and talk about that. I'm all in. Are you?
Allow me to give you tips and tricks for selecting fabrics. Talk values, shades, tints, dark, medium and light with me. Get into a helpful mindset for choosing just what you need next time around.
Remove the stress. Playing with fabric can be fun. I'll even give resources that are helpful for choosing color combos.
Interested? I hope you will take advantage of this amazing class. The next one is Tuesday, January 24th, 10-1:00 p.m.. Click here to register.
The beauty of quilting is the multitude of styles, approaches, perspectives, techniques, and art. Add in the wide variety of quilters 'out there' with their personal interests and anything is possible.
I am a teacher who listens. Your input is always welcome. I love the ideas you bring to the table. So, give me the kernel of a class and let me mull it over. We'll brainstorm and be creative.
Do you have a class wish list? Do you have ideas I should know about? By clicking here, share your wishes. I'm all ears.
There has been interest in the Arkansas Traveler. A number of folks informed me they needed support when removing the cellophane. So, a class with directions on how to use the die will be helpful. What a great way to start the new year!
This is a die with a cozy creative twist. We will look at inspirational patterns and examine what secondary patterns emerge when the block is used repeatedly. We will brainstorm about how this block could interact with other BOB dies to breathe life into a novel quilt. Interested? I hope so. Click here to register for this class: January 25th, 2-5:00 p.m. Eastern.
Monday, January 26th, 1-4:00 p.m. Eastern time
Carol Thelen is amazing. She is a member of our Learning and Support page. Her educational training was in engineering, and in retirement she reinvented herself by creating Quiltnotes.com.
In October, Carol taught us how to use Accuquilt, EQ8 and Quiltnotes in conjunction with one another. Her explanation is easy to understand, and opens the door to a whole new way of figuring yardage for pieced quilts. At the same time, we learn how to apply borders to quilts, make quilt layouts simple, and even design quilt blocks.
This is a class you do not want to miss. To register for class, click here. Save your space because we close this class at 50 students.
