Sunday, May 17th, 2:00-5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
There has been significant interest in the Arkansas Traveler. A number of folks informed me they needed support when removing the cellophane. So, I'm guessing a class with directions on how to use the die will be helpful. What a great way to enjoy the spring!
This is another die that brings us creative possibilities. We will look at inspirational patterns and imagine some of our own. We will examine what secondary patterns emerge when the block is used repeatedly. We will brainstorm about how this block could interact with other BOB dies to breathe life into a novel quilt.
This is really a stunning block. I love making it and look forward to sharing this with you. To register click here.
Starts Monday, May 11 and 25, 10-1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
My fun-loving and very artistic sister lives in Brownsburg, Indiana and free motion quilts. In fact, she is a professional free motion quilter who thoroughly understands the need to begin a free motion journey with good solid basics. Best of all, she teaches how to free motion on the domestic machine.
She teaches us online. We are inspired. We can listen and learn and practice during class. It means working with our respective machine to find out what it can do. It is starting with straight lines and growing from there.
If you have always wanted to tackle free motion quilting and haven't know where or how to do that, then join this class. While Donna's orientation is with Bernina machines, there is so much information here that can be translated to your unique machine.
Donna starts you out with straight lines, moves you to wavy lines and before you know it, with practice, you are quilting motifs.
Class does mean you will need to dedicate 15 minutes practice time everyday.
Class dates: May 6 and 20, June 10 and 24, August 5 and 19, September 9 and 23. July has video support. Time: 10-1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Note: classes meet every other week.
Class prerequisite: Basic Free Motion 101
Starts Wednesday May 6 and 20th, 10-1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Donna is excited to take her free motion quilters into steps beyond their first classes. Now the fun really begins. The horizons expand as free motion techniques build on all that was learned from practicing daily. Just wait until you see what you can do.
I'm not revealing any secrets here. Donna and her dog 'Stitch' will guide you through all the next steps, and beyond. Learn to quilt your quilts artistically because you can. With Donna's expertise moving you forward, you'll be ready to spread your wings and fly! Just imagine the beautiful quilting in your future. You will create masterpieces.
Proficient free motion does come with dedication and heart. You will benefit from setting aside 30-60 minutes of independent practice stitching at least four days out of each week. There will be lesson days and sewing days. It's a perfect mix for learning the best in this skill.
Wednesday, August 5 and 12, 2-5:00 p.m. Eastern.
Often we purchase an Accuquilt bundle. That sets us up with all the basics for entering the Accuquilt landscape. However, when there is a Qube as part of the bundle, we may never take the cellophane off that Qube. It will sit on the shelf forever unless we make an effort to learn what the Qube is about.
This class is a hands-on introduction to the Qube. Learn about marking your Qube, and cutting with the shapes. Learn about sewing the shapes into a simple quilt block and a more complicated quilt block. Then you will be all set for any Accuquilt adventure on the horizon.
Ahead of time, send me your questions so everything gets answered. I will do demos. You will practice. I will show you the process for sewing a quilt block. Those beautiful blocks you see in beautiful quilts will become reality for you because I will teach you how to make your dreams come true.
Friday, May 1st, 11-2:00 p.m. Eastern time
For those who love paper piecing, this class is delightful and easy. For those who have never done foundation paper piecing, this class is an awesome introduction to the process. Best part: you can use your scraps for delicate tulips. You know we all have plenty of scraps.
Do join me. Perhaps make one flower. Or make several. Add hearts from the Accuquilt applique dies. Expand your creativity and invent your own design.
These tulips use ribbon for the stem. Novel. Cute. Simple. I provide you with the pattern to print onto foundation paper ahead of time. Purchase Carol Doan's foundation paper and the Add-a-Quarter-Plus ruler to make these tulips. You will also want a 4" strip of green ribbon for the stem.

We talk about the hidden talents in quilt blocks. They give us secondary designs. We talk about hidden talents in BOB dies. They are a wonderful tool for creative quilts. Well, take the plunge. Come see what we can do with this ruler. It's fun. It's easy. It's rewarding. And it's amazing at how quickly the ruler will spark your imagination.
This is the link to register for class. Simply click here.
You will want to purchase the ruler ahead of time. Perhaps check out Linda's Electric Quilters or the Fabric Quarter Shop on my affiliate links here.
Monday, May 4th, 2-5:00 p.m. Eastern time
Rulers can create their own version of 'amazing'. This particular Creative Grids ruler - at first glance - shows that it can serve multiple purposes. Well, surprise of surprises, this ruler has hidden talents.
Perhaps you can blend BOB die quilt blocks with others created with this 90 degree double strip ruler. There's no end to creativity. We all love to keep those creative juices flowing.
We're celebrating this ruler on May 4th. Perhaps make something in red, white, and blue for the 250th. Come join the fun
Six classes starting April 18 and May 2, 10-1:00 p.m. Eastern
Have you traveled these United States? Are there states that recall treasured memories? Where were you born? Where have you lived? Where do you like to vacation? Honor those states with their state block in a quilt.
I have quilt block patterns for all 50 states that I will convert for you so that you might cut them with Accuquilt. If you have states you want to highlight in a quilt or a wall hanging, this could be a lot of fun. Create the state blocks. Make yourself a patriotic quilt for the 250th year!
Or if you have one state you want to celebrate, then make a quilt with that state block. Perhaps you would want to use the 16" Qube and make fewer blocks. One block out of the 16" could create a small lap. Ideas, Ideas. We can brainstorm and sew together. I am happy to work with you on what you would like to do. Give yourself some sewing practice and let's play!
April 18 and May 2, May 23 and 30, June 20 and 27, 10-1:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 5th and 19th, 2-5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
This delightful pattern is fun to play with. What's most fun is realizing that the entire quilt is created from 2 1/2" strips.
Also, this pattern gives us data for a Baby quilt, Throw, Twin, Queen and King sizes. It's not difficult. Daniela Stout has done a fine job creating this pattern, making it easy to understand in any size.
I have made the Top Down quilt many times and with great success. Each time I make it, I think it would be an awesome pattern for a class. So, grab your fabrics, scrappy or not, and come play with me.
If we set the class up with an empty week in the middle, that gives us time to work on our quilt project. This doesn't have to be stressful. Take your time. We will meet on alternating Tuesdays and complete our quilt. There's nothing better than a completed quilt. Register by clicking here.
Friday, May 8th and 15th, 10:00 - 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
This class runs two weeks, three hours in each class. The first class we will talk through the process of managing panel quilts. There will be helpful tips and tricks. We will discuss border options.
In the second class, we will look at your panels and figure out options for dealing with them. That's right. We will actually take a look at a panel you have and brainstorm ideas for creating a lovely quilt. The whole class will have a chance to offer up inspirational possibilities. Just imagine.
Perhaps you will want to select a patriotic panel for the 250th. This is an example of a Robert Kaufman panel. There are more 'out there'. See what you can find. Or dig down into your panels and pull out something special.
Thursday, May 21 & 28, 10-1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
This QUILT AS YOU GO CLASS reviews Pauline Rogers techniques for quilting pieced blocks on your domestic machine. Square them and learn to join them with spacer strips, sashings, and borders into a beautiful, finished quilt. After instruction, feel free to work hands-on in class.
Recommended supplies: Pauline Rogers Quilt as You Go Handbook, Pauline Rogers Sasher Tools set, Hobb's Heirloom cotton/polyester FUSIBLE batting, Clover double forked pins, and Roxanne's Baste-It Glue.
This QAYG approach to finishing a quilt is satisfying. When you gift a quilt, take pride in the reality that all the work is your own. If you would like to learn the process and practice these techniques, register below. QAYG will save you from expensive long arm costs and piles of UFOs.
Schedule uninterrupted sewing time.
These mini retreats are offered through QuiltersB to promote the idea that we can all sew together and be motivation for each other.

Last Spring Workshop Thursday: April 16th, 2026
Summer workshops: May 22, June 26 and July 24, 2026
Overwhelmed quilters need uninterrupted sewing time for unfinished projects, Christmas sewing, and for catch-up on class work.
Many want company in their sewing room. Others want to know there is someone who can help them with a skill. So, join me in my sewing room. I will join you in yours. Let's help each other, and sew together on Zoom.
Schedule one day once a month for uninterrupted sewing. Write it on the calendar. Educate your family that you are dedicating that day to the sewing room. Maybe plan ahead so supper is in the freezer.
Call this a mini-retreat, a therapeutic respite, or a Christmas workshop. The spirit is the same; we are all like elves preparing for that big day when we gift a quilt to someone. Many of us just need to breathe and create.
It is possible to register for one day or two or three. Please know that the cost is slightly less if you pay for the three day package. But this payment option gives you some flexibility, month to month.
AND IF YOU REGISTER FOR THE CHRISTMAS CLUB, you are given a discount to these mini-retreat days of sewing.
Six classes of guidance and instruction: April 15 and 22, May 13 and 20, June 17 and 24, 2-5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Over an over again, I receive wish list requests for help with the Slice of Pi Exploding Hearts patterns. This is an awesome spring project, especially if you are wanting to complete this quilt in a timely manner, perhaps for a summer wedding gift.
Everyone will need to purchase the pattern and decide on fabrics. Know that the pattern is best made with the 8" Qube. However, it can be made bigger or smaller with bigger or smaller Qubes. I love that it is Accuquilt friendly.
One reason the class is popular: we motivate each other to stick with it. There are many repetitive shapes to cut and piece. If we can do that and chat at the same time, it's like a quilting bee. We encourage. Like we are cheerleaders for each other.
Click here to register. Claim your space. See you in April.
Friday, May 29 and June 5, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Eastern time
If you ever wanted to make a t-shirt quilt, then this is the class for you. It's amazing what you can do with tees, sweatshirts, polo shirts, pajamas, nightgowns, dance costumes, and even the merit badge sashes from scouts.
T-shirt quilts are a canvas for your creative touch. You can do anything. Make a quilt with sashing around the tees; make a quilt that looks like a collage of different sized logos. I can show you how to do it all.
Making a t-shirt quilt is about a 12 step process from start to finish. Each step takes time, but in the end you have a quilt that lasts a lifetime. It can be gifted with knowing you pulled someone's memories together into a living scrapbook, and they will be eternally grateful.

Wednesday, June 10th and 24th, 2-5:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Basic foundation paper piecing is a delight. For many it is written-off as frustrating. However, paper piecing can be a respite from daily activities.
This project teaches how to make four basic trees. We start with the easiest and gradually expand our skills to the more complicated. It is like putting a puzzle together, sewing fabric onto paper, and creating a lovely table runner or wall hanging.
Supplies for the class? A pack of Carol Doak's Foundation Paper, scraps of green fabrics and brown for the tree trunks. Either scraps for the background or a few fat quarters. Possibly 1/2 yd for borders, and 1 1/2 yd for the backing. Won't you join me?
I have come to appreciate paper piecing and the look it creates. The straight lines define the shapes. It's like art in your home, art made from your own hands. It's an awesome conversation starter, and you can smile with pride because you are the artist.
Make your basic green trees or create something whimsical from scraps that you've collected. A stash buster project!!
How many times have we looked at our stack of quilt tops and groaned because we aren't sure how to finish them? How many times have we added another quilt top to the pile thinking someday we'll have enough money to send them to the long armer?
This class walks us through the finishing process addressing quilt sandwiches, battings, backings and bindings. We talk about squaring up our quilts, adding borders, and quilting options, anything that pertains to finishing a quilt.
Class is two weeks. There is a PowerPoint in pdf format that you keep as a study guide so always and forever you will have a reference for finishing your quilts. No more piles. It's time to put those quilts together. Use them. Gift them while you have a say in where they go. Register here for a helpful class.
The beauty of quilting is the multitude of styles, approaches, perspectives, techniques, and art. Add in the wide variety of quilters 'out there' with their personal interests and anything is possible.
I am a teacher who listens. Your input is always welcome. I love the ideas you bring to the table. So, give me the kernel of a class and let me mull it over. We'll brainstorm and be creative.
Do you have a class wish list? Do you have ideas I should know about? By clicking here, share your wishes. I'm all ears.
Want practice? This forum is for you. PATTERN CONVERSION PRACTICE. April 29th, 5-8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
These three hours are for those who feel they don't quite understand the conversion process after taking the original Grids and Pattern Conversion class. Think of it as a refresher class.
Some feel they need to take the pattern conversion class twice. So, I'm offering a one time three hour class where all we do is translate quilt patterns and blocks. It's hands-on with tons of opportunity to ask questions and share where you are confused.
We take patterns apart and put them back together for Accuquilt cutting. Most important: it gives you a chance to figure things out so you can walk away confident you've finally got the process.
